Marvellous May ~ without doubt my favourite month in the year and it’s just been so beautiful ~ the colours, the wildflowers, the sunshine, makes my heart happy. What’s your favourite month and why?

You cannot imagine my excitement when I came home to find this waiting on the doorstep. It’s the first in a 7 part series by @yanametro_author , and it is definitely 5⭐️ all the way. I was totally hooked and loved the plot but also the reflections on spirituality and philosophy. I cannot recommend this enough, I just couldn’t put it down and I’m so looking forward to the next instalment. #gifted #lumniferos

Ive been in a bookshop tour of Bristol. Fuelled by falafels and passion fruit ice tea (slightly addicted) from @eatapittauk . Found some absolute gems on the book front too. It was a lovely mix of quirky second hand shops and bright modern stores. Which do you prefer? @foylesbristol @stanfordsbristol

Popped into our local #bookstore @liznojan_books a few days ago. We’re so lucky to have such a great indie bookshop right on the doorstep - fantastic choice of books and vegan treats and coffee - what more could you ask for!!

Book Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (and a half) unlike some other reviews I’ve seen I actually enjoyed this more as I got into it. However, it is the authors debut novel and it shows. Characters are pretty one dimensional and whilst the LGBT representation is to be praised it would have been good if they had been given more depth than just their identity, which in the end started to seem a bit box ticking. Overall I enjoyed it but I would rush to recommend it over others that are very similar. Have you tried it and if so let me know what you think ?

Popped out to one of my favourite places #hemburywoods - didn’t get far as we were rained out by an absolute deluge but it was lovely to be in such a peaceful and beautiful place

Another one of our favourite places was @north_books_hay - full of fantastic books (obvs), but also had a gorgeous little coffee area, a special selection of @persephonebooks (so beautiful) and this amazing art work (made from paper from encyclopaedia britannica). And they were so friendly and enthusiastic about their books, we got some great recommendations as well. Can’t wait to come back and visit again

Tried my first matcha at @thecosycafehay and I loved it (wasn’t sure I would tbf) Plus they have the best almond croissant ever. We came back another day for the nourish bowls which were also delicious - it’s def my top recommendation if you need a refuel

First few pictures from our trip to Hay on Wye. It’s such a lovely town and we had the best time visiting the vast majority of the 20 (yes twenty!!) bookshops. Many books were purchased and many coffees were consumed (especially at the lovely @thecosycafehay )

We were away (visiting Hay on Wye, which was amazing, more on that soon) and my feet haven’t touched the ground since we got back. Am hoping for a little break tomorrow and a cute reading set up like this before it all begins again

Today I should have been going on a boat trip, but 40mph winds and pretty much solid rain made us reconsider 🤣 So instead I’m looking back over some old pictures of trips from the past (with the amazing @voyages.of.discovery who I highly recommend) and hoping we can get out there again when it looks a bit more like this. Hope everyone is having a good day and staying dry!

Well it’s barely stopped raining all day ~ our field is flooded and it’s still hammering down ~ but we’ve got the candles, the blankets, the music and the books so for now all is well

It was much colder than I expected this morning but the view certainly made up for it. Quite keen to get home to the fire and a pot of coffee though!

A new week ~ a beautiful sunrise ~ a full moon tonight. What are you grateful for this morning?

It’s been almost a month since I last walked along this path, and it’s lovely to be back in the normal routine but also to see al the tiny changes ~ this morning there are little dustings of snow in the sheltered corners and the swan family are looking majestic, the four cygnets have gained even more of their white feathers, irs hard to believe they were little balls of grey fluff just a few months ago.

As things are inevitably getting busier the closer we are getting to Christmas, I’m increasingly stuck at the way nature is going in the opposite direction. Each day there’s a greater sense of stillness and quietness. I am holding those moments close and reminding myself this is the way it is meant to be.

Storm Bert seems to have pretty much stripped the last of the leaves and we are really entering into the stark bare branch period of winter soon. This is from last week before the snow, wind and biblical rain, when autumn was still looking a bit brighter

Absolutely magical night at @ottertonmill seeing the ever wonderful Kathryn + Sean. So lucky that the sun shone for us and so glad to be able to see a performance of this calibre right on the doorstep. Extra happy that Kathryn sung Huldra Also managed not to cry my eyes out at STLB (although it was close)
